Eating a good healthy diet and exercise can double the protective power of the immune system. These are the basic things that can affect human life effectively. Many people realized the truth since the Coronavirus pandemic began. They changed their lifestyles from sedentary to active and healthy lifestyles. They started practicing Yoga, Aerobics, and even High-intensity interval training to stay fit. Regular physical activity can strengthen your system and help your body repel infections and viruses. Aim for a minimum of half-hour of physical activity for 3 days per week.

We can also stay healthy by changing minor things in our diet.

  • Food is the most effective medicine for our bodies. There is no particular food that can help in building your immunity instantly in one day. You need to consume the desired amount of all vitamins, water, and eat a variety of foods daily to ensure an adequate intake of important nutrients.
  • Proteins are also one of the most critical nutrients supporting our immune system.
  • Vitamin C has more important functions that play a vital role in helping the body to fight infection. This vitamin helps to regenerate other antioxidants within the body. The richest sources of Vitamin C are citrus fruits such as sweet limes, oranges, grapes, kiwi, guava, lemons,  & vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, Brussel sprouts, and capsicums.  
  • Staying hydrated is another simple way to increase immunity because it flushes out all the toxins from the body. An immunity booster drink is fresh coconut water, which is easily available everywhere. Drink plenty of lukewarm water throughout the day to stay hydrated.

Indians are blessed to have herbs and condiments right in their kitchen and these herbs & condiments like Turmeric, Tulsi, Clove, Ginger, and Cinnamon can play an important role in immunity building.

 I make herbal tea at home every day by adding these ingredients in boiling water and drinking it with a bit of honey. This tea is anti-inflammatory that helps ward off infections. This herbal tea can help to boost the immune system and fight sickness. The famous “Kadha” which includes only whole spices, and it has a stronger taste and effects than my homemade herbal tea recipe.

❏ Tulsi comes first to the mind when we think of immunity-boosting and antioxidants because this herb is much favored by Ayurveda. Tulsi called ‘Queen of Herbs’ Tulsi herb is rich in Vitamins A, K, C, minerals, and fiber. These herbs come in very handy and keep infections at bay.

❏ Turmeric milk is also a traditional Indian household beverage as an immune booster. People drink turmeric milk for health, beauty, and sound sleep. Turmeric contains curcumin, which is a phytochemical that can remove toxins from your body and boost your immune system. Its anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal properties protect us from a variety of infections. Many doctors highly recommend taking a teaspoon full of Turmeric in a glass of warm milk every day to keep the common cold and cough.
